A Huge Welcome to our New Families
We are very excited to meet you all. We will be in touch soon about transition to Hertford.
Firstly, welcome to Hertford Junior School! We are delighted that you are joining our Hertford Family in September 2020! If this is your first experience as a parent at a primary school, it can be pretty nerve wracking at the best of times and being on lockdown isn't going to make it any easier! For those of you who have done this before, this time will be different.
Although we have dates in the diary for our transition programme for the infant children, and enhanced transition dates for children who have additional needs to consider, we now do not know if they will be able to go ahead. However, we are going to do everything we can to help you and your children settle in and be ready to start school in September.
Contingency Plans
We have been thinking through how we can support you and your children in transition from infant school to junior in these difficult and unusual circumstances. Exactly what we do will depend on how the world changes in the next few weeks and months but our first contingency is to record a video presentation, introducing the staff to you and your children at home.
We will put all of the information that we would have given out at the parents and carers meetings, but we will also post it to you. In order not to overwhelm the local post workers, we will probably send them out over a few weeks.
We will also need set up an e-mail distribution list so we can get information out to you electronically and keep you informed about arrangements for the rest of this term as circumstances change.
What We Need From You
If you wish to take up your offer of a place at Hertford Junior School, could you return your acceptance form electronically, or by post. (We have already received some forms via email- thank you!)
Could you also make sure we have a current e-mail address for you so we can set up that distribution list?
I hope to see you all soon but, in the meantime, stay safe. Take care.
